Surfistas puxam o limite nas ondas avassaladoras trazidas pelo tufão Hagibis ao litoral japonês.

O ano de 2019 vai chegando ao fim e o Waves preparou uma retrospectiva com alguns dos vídeos mais marcantes da temporada:

A chegada do tufão Hagibis ao litoral japonês em outubro causou muita destruição e pelo menos 40 mortes em lugares como a capital Tóquio e outras cidades do país.

Além de chuvas torrenciais e rajadas de vento que superaram os 200 km/h, o mar também esteve em fúria na região de Chiba e alguns big riders locais se arriscaram nas bombas que quebraram de maneira avassaladora.

This is 🇯🇵 @surfline Today was definitely the biggest waves I have ever photographed in Japan from the water. After 18 years living in this beautiful country I can say today I had the most incredible experience in the ocean. I moved to Chiba prefecture 3 years ago, and since then I have been listening about this wave called “Shot Gun”. After 3 years of waiting I finally met this beast or better say this beauty. The Typhoon Hagibis hit Japan in the evening hours of Saturday leaving devastation in its wake. 42 people have been reported dead and 15 missing in what has come to be known as the worst storm in over 6 decades. 20 rivers in Central & Northeastern Japan have burst their banks flooding the cities and towns nearby. The government has issued warnings to over 8 million people living in the area as the wind picks up to 90mph with gusts of wind over 120mph. Owing to the severe storm more than 800 flights were cancelled on Sunday out Tokyo’s main airports. Tens of thousands of troops and rescue workers have been dispatched to the affected areas to help the people of the region.
